Beskrivelse
This work is intended for ages 8-14. Terrorism is a frightening but all too real topic for young people. This sensitively-written new book examines the history of terrorism and sheds light on the groups that carry out these acts. The book explains the measures taken by countries around the world to keep citizens safe from terrorist attacks and how they fight terrorism from its roots up. Topics include: ancient terrorism and the history of terror; what motivates terrorists; notorious acts of terror, such as the Munich Olympics Massacre and the Beslan School attack of 2004; how intelligence agencies track suspected terrorists; and methods that make people safe from terrorists, including airport security and anti-terrorist squads.
