Mount Vernon, Washington, is a small rural town where life runs at a slower, quieter pace. A long history of farming and fishing. Generations have raised their families with few complaints. Consistent weather. Good schools. The ocean west, snow-capped mountains east. When six-year-old Tami Haller is snatched up and her mother murdered, the town takes notice.
