Adolescent pregnancy and childbirth appear to be critical and special situations on an international scale. Objectives: To study the characteristics and maternal-fetal prognosis of these pregnancies.Materials and methods:Retrospective study of 72 adolescent deliveries out of a total of 4487 deliveries at the Monastir maternity and neonatology center in 2022.ResultsTeenage births occurred at a frequency of 1.6%.The average age of these adolescents was 18.6 years. 4.17% were single mothers.83.33% were primigravidas. The most common gynaecological antecedent was abortion.19.44% of adolescents had not had the number of ANC recommended in Tunisia. Analysis of pregnancy-related pathologies shows that premature rupture of membranes is the most frequent incident during pregnancy, at a rate of 30.56%. The rate of premature deliveries is 12.5%. 21.9% of these newborns were transferred to the neonatology department.Conclusion:Early sex education and information on contraception should reduce the incidence of these pregnancies.
