This book has been written strictly in accordance with the English syllabus prescribed for B.Ed., course in most of the Indian universities. No doubt, there are so many other books on the subject written by worthy authors. However, this book has its own unique style and way of presentation. This book dwells upon almost all aspects of teaching English like the nature and scope of English language, aims and objectives of teaching English as a second language, problems in teaching and learning of English, principles of English language teaching, teaching skills, resources in teaching English, approaches and methods of teaching English, tools of evaluation and educational statistics. In addition, last four units deal with development of listening, speaking reading and writing skills at lower as well as higher level.
