Beskrivelse
About 90% of the scattered translations of late Shamsur Rahman Faruqi have been collected in one place. However, his translated book 'Poetics' (Aristotle) is not included in it, as several editions of this book are available in libraries.
This book is also important because these translations are not done by a general translator but by a theorist, writer and critic who is known for ushering modernism to Urdu literature. Faruqi formulated fresh models of literary appreciation that combined western principles of literary criticism and subsequently applied them to Urdu literature after adapting them to address literary aesthetics native to Arabic, Persian, and Urdu.
