Tang Soo Do Chang Moo Kwan provides the full story of the Chang Moo Kwan's creation, history and evolution. The Chnag Moo Kwan Tang Soo Do was one of the first of two Korean Kwans to open in 1944 during the colonial Japanese occupation that wasn't over until 1945 and uses the Korean name Tang Soo Do as Korea's first Post World War II martial art. The author includes Chang Moo Kwan's travels through the new independent post war independent Korean government, the first Korean government since 1910, to become Chang Moo Kwan Tae Kwon Do and its journey from Tang Soo Do Chang Moo Kwan to Tae Kwon Do Chang Moo Kwan as the many Kwan leaders who resisted the new Korean governments drive to use Korea's martial arts community to unify Korea and force unity in Korea's martial arts community for its own political reason against immeasurable resistance from Kwan leaders and Instructors who all desired individual government support and funding so that Taekwondo would become the first martial art to compete in the Olympics. The author also includes the history of Chang Moo Kwan Hyung's from Tang Soo Do thru Taekwondo Poomsae and Chang Moo Kwan's growth and expansion as Taekwodo replaces Tang Soo Do as Korea's national martial art and whose Kwans and Instructors loyalty, dedication and influence was key to making Taekowndo, Korea's national Olympic martial art.
