Tales I Shouldn't Tell My Daughter is about Brian McFadden's life prior to the birth of his daughter Kate, a span of almost fifty years. It is an attempt to reconcile his journey through life during his youth and early adulthood and is sprinkled with accounts of meeting with and having relationships with at least 164 celebrities, stars, politicians, and historical figures. It is also his attempt to explain the person he was then as opposed to the person he has become since she came into his life. He hopes that others will see aspects of their lives during the latter half of the 20th Century that were similar.
