Tabitha Bates

Jonathon Mayhew is a complex character, afflicted with fears and phobias. However, when he takes possession of an antique chair, a new terror is unleashed. Tabitha Bates, the chair's previous owner who is now dead reveals her presence. She uses malevolent visions about World War II, Adolf Hitler, and Mankind's most evil deeds to disturb Jonathon-and her ethereal voice manipulates radio signals from The BBC World Service-carrying them from the world of the dead and into the world of the living. Then her sinister appearance emerges in mirrors and the dark shadows of the night.

Deeply troubled Jonathon seeks out a psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Matthews. She becomes fascinated with Jonathon's case and is drawn into proceedings. And so with darkened atmospheric centrepieces and disturbing visions becoming more profound, both are hurtled into a web of diabolical secrets, murder, doomed love, and are left wondering if either of them can survive the evil ghostly entity, Tabitha Bates.
