The most developed societies, and those with the greatest impact, are those that are educated, make economic rationality predominate in their decisions and act as if the environment were an inexhaustible source of resources. Overcoming the crisis requires a cultural change and the transition to sustainable development depends on the changes that governments and society as a whole implement, which require education and public awareness actions.
