Syrus Valerius, a vampire wandering the earth for hundreds of years, finds this young boy and offers eternal life. Wakening as a vampire, Rune adjusts to having a place to call home and learning to control his thirst for human blood, as well as the new conflicts in his relationship with Syrus.Eventually, Rune's past catches up with him, and both he and Syrus will need to learn more and more in order to protect themselves and the peace they've found, even if it means accepting help from others.
