The first victim is Denise, a mature married woman with grown up children, who worked in a Tax Office. Who could have wanted her dead, and why? Then Kim, a young, tall and slim blonde, is murdered and matching fingerprints are found on identical guns left at each scene. What can the victims have in common? Is there any significance in the fact that they both had purple cars? Chief Inspector Frazier leads the investigation, assisted by Inspectors Julian Jackson (a handsome womaniser), Aurelia Cavendish (enigmatic and original) and Constable Kathy Sibson (young and ambitious) in the search to expose and stop the murderer. Murders; mystery, misery, love, horror and complications of all sorts provide a turbulent background as the murderer becomes increasingly erratic and dangerous.
