When I climbed Big Round Top in Gettysburg, the winter of 2009, I had no idea that climb would change the course of my life forever. Summer Ray was not in my mind to write. I was doing research for another book. Yet, due to an unexpected fall on that hill, the Summer Ray Series was born. Not only is Summer Ray a partial true story of my life, it is also based on true historical events, with lots of historical/fiction added in.
