The concept of Tasawwuf has been subject to many objections and opposition just like any other discipline or creed. The westernized orientalist portrayed the concept of modern Sufism and the Hindu spiritual concepts created a concoction of ideologies around Sufis. It has been an objection that the concept of Tasawwuf is Bida' and does not belong to Islam as it is not inscribed in Quran or Hadith. Is Sufism limited to a dancing dervish, is it a universal concept, or is it just an innovation?
