Studies on Fungal Adaptation Strategies to Heavy Metals and Their Role

This book will handle with one of the most pathogenic fungus for plants especially in Egypt like black heart rot of banana as well as early rot of corn and necrosis of palm date leaves which were caused by the action of Fusarium moniliforme. Polygalactourinase is an enzyme that causes traumatic effect, so this book elucidate some experiments that test the ability of the fungus to uptake different types of heavy metals which are nickel, cadmium, cobalt and mercury. Also the mechanism of uptake and tolerance would be investigated via different techniques such as atomic absorption spectrometer, SDS PAGE, SEM, TEM, EDX and column chromatography. Finally, the impact of the heavy metals on the gene of Polygalactourinase PGA would be evaluated.
