Beskrivelse
The synthesis of β-MnS, γ-MnS, and Cu-doped MnS nanocrystals are discussed using a wet chemical technique at the low-temperature range. The synthesized samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction, Transmission Electron Microscope, Scanning Electron Microscope, Fourier Transforms Infrared Spectroscopy, UV-Visible absorption, Photoluminescence Spectroscopy, LCR Hi-Tester meter, and Vibrating Sample Magnetometer. The average crystallite size of the samples is calculated from the X-ray diffraction patterns using the modified Scherrer and Williamson-Hall analyses. UV-visible absorption study is used to determine the optical bandgap of the MnS nanocrystals. The photoluminescence spectrum shows strong UV blue emission. The electrical conduction, dielectric and impedance properties of synthesized nanocrystals are investigated in the frequency range 50 Hz to 5 MHz and temperature range 323 K to 473 K. The vibrating sample magnetometer measurement confirms the paramagnetic behavior in the MnS nanocrystals.
