Beskrivelse
A personal account of a carefree active life growing up in Zimbabwe, devastated by a severe stroke at the age of 21. The author describes attempts of self-rehabilitation, followed by a transition to Northern Ireland and more conventional rehabilitation. Following the birth of her son, she engages in several local groups of stroke survivors. She then uses her experiences to suggest ways in which other stroke survivors can deal with their practical and emotional problems. Throughout she uses the analogy of the silkworm cycle to explain the stages of her own recovery. This is beautifully illustrated on the front cover.
