Beskrivelse
This book covers the subject of inter-state dispute settlement in free trade agreements from a global perspective. Those agreements contain an increasing number of more and more elaborate dispute settlement provisions. The provisions are compared and a basic scheme is deduced. Additionally, jurisprudence and the relation to the WTO and state sovereignty are analyzed and the book gives a comprehensive overview of potential problems and possible solutions. A larger role of the WTO institutions would be a good option, however such role seems unlikely considering the current stalemate of WTO negotiations. The author studied law at the Universities of Potsdam and Paris X and in May 2015 finished his legal training after traineeship positions, among others, at the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy and the German-Argentinian Chamber of Commerce.
