Beskrivelse
The Temple of Delphi features the inscription "Know Thyself." This encouragement can still be found in every Masonic lodge. In order to penetrate the fast scheme of things, a man must first learn to know himself. The experience of undergoing the rituals of Freemasonry can be of service to the man who seeks new perspectives. In addition to insights derived from philosophy, psychology, and esoteric movements, it is essential to have knowledge of history and culture. This culture dictates an ideology that has been internalized by man in his life, shaping his thoughts on Self, fellow man and worldview at large; as a complex constructed narrative. Deconstructing that spiritual narrative is not a small, but sometimes even dangerous task. One¿s own ideology comes under pressure, everything is questioned, and new views meet with resistance because they contrast with what is custom and the dominant narrative. Ultimately, it is about (re)discovering and maintaining the Good, True, and Beautiful. The lectures in this publication approach the contemporary dominant ideology and its impact on a cultural consensus from a cultural-critical, philosophical attitude.
