Raised in an abusive home, Shannon Tarver commits herself to fulfilling all of her dreams when she is accepted into college on an academic scholarship. Shannon is on the path to success, until the death of her beloved mother. Shannon's world spirals out of control and she loses everything positive in her life, including her college sweetheart, Logan Steel. Falling into a drunken depression, she loses her scholarship and seeks the shelter of another, Brock Paretti. The man that convinces her he will help her get back on her feet. She had no idea, at the time; he was all her mother warned her about, and she finds herself back in the abusive cycle she tried so hard to escape. Mentally and physically abused, she finally builds the courage to escape and turn her life around.
