Beskrivelse
60 years after the end of the Second World War former forced laborers were interviewed in Russia. Which discursive patterns are found in their memories? Which emotions prevail and why? What kind of role does gender play? Which kind of psychological resources were disposable to these people? The book offers deep insight into the social and individual dynamics of totalitarian regimes. Among the results of the study is the observation that there exists a continuity from the USSR to contemporary Russia that is reflected in the book's title: stigma and silence.
