Stepping Over

The Bulldog, introduced to the public in the first book of this series, THE BULLDOG, which was a very different book, has just been killed, shot by his jealous wife. But The Bulldog does not go over to the Other Side easily. He is too full of Life, too full of playfulness, to let it end so quickly. He chooses to stay on This Side, and thus the legend of The Bulldog crops up in the High Sierra where he lived and died. In this book, The Bulldog learns quickly that reality is not what it seems on the Other Side, that what you wish for you get, that nothing is denied you, but is warned that what you wish for is not always what you really want. He learns about Heaven and Hell, learns about The Light, it doesn't eat you, it glorifies you, sees his dead mother, a dead friend, and yet still he wants to stay. . . He's The Bulldog. He can do what he wants.
