Sky Winters thinks she's being pranked when a man shows up at her mountain cabin one afternoon looking like a perfect cosplay of her favorite character from her favorite fantasy series. Nox Lightwing the Warrior Prince isn't playing, though. He has come to Earth to save Sky from a tragic fate, and he is determined to save the woman he's rapidly falling in love with.

Whisked away from the only planet she's ever known, Sky joins Nox in a series of interplanetary adventures that forever change their lives as they take in a heady mix of passion, discovery, and tea along the way. Sky finds her inner strength and learns about her secret abilities that are either coveted or feared throughout the universe, making her a target wherever she goes. Nox discovers that the life he had planned is nothing compared with the life he is creating with Sky.

Meanwhile, the clock is ticking down for planet Earth. The ever-present question hangs over their heads: who will survive?
