Magic presented himself as a corny, nerdy, bashful guy to get close to Lina - and it worked! Unbeknownst to her, he's actually quite the opposite - he's sophisticated, intellectual, and sociable. Lina's happy when she discovers that Magic is actually sophisticated, intellectual, and sociable but as some of his undesirable traits begin to surface, she begins to question his true motives and realizes he isn't the man she thought he was.
