Stale Mate

Cho and Cassie's relationship formed out of the most unlikely circumstance with a little unearthly intervention, but that intervention comes with a price. Lately, the universe has been knocking like a debt collector. Cho and Cassie were meant to be star-crossed lovers. Cho should have died in an explosion, but his soul has been bound to Cassie, keeping him alive. The act has thrown the universe out of balance, and it has repeatedly tried to right itself. They've survived fallen angels, Lucifer, a sadistic killer, and several other unearthly beings, all trying to break them apart. Now the closer they get to their wedding day the more the universe is trying to separate them. A cloaked figure is plaguing their house, taking lives. It feels like they are trapped in a cosmic chess game just waiting for fate to seize another one of their pieces. They must act fast to protect the king and keep from being put in check.
