Beskrivelse
An ancient war between the Fates. A girl whose magic could end it all. And a school run by witch hunters, hell-bent on suppressing magical youths into withdrawing from their powers.
Once again back in the Agnus' clutches, Charlie fears that her days with magic are numbered. That is until she stumbles upon a secret group of rebels with an extra seat at their table reserved for the child of Life - a girl foretold to set their magic free.
Drawn to the handsome rebel leader, Charlie decides to act the part and bands together with the rebels to overthrow the Agnus. Yet, to do so, she must first find a way to connect with her own magic, which might just mean embracing who she truly is.
With freedom, belonging and identity at stake, Charlie distractedly navigates the Agnus' oppressive regime, first love and her new found family's expectations; realising too late that there are darker forces at play and a price someone will have to pay - with Death as the cashier.
A cinematic, page-turning dark fantasy debut that comes out swinging. If you've been looking for something original in the vein of Harry Potter, Narnia and His Dark Materials, but for upper young adult readers, then you'll love Spindle of Life.
Although considered PG13, the book is recommended to mature young adult readers due to darker themes and content. Please see information made available on the author's website for specific content warnings.
