Following the death of his mentor, scientist Alastair Scully finds that there was more to the man who had been like a father to him than he thought. As he discovers the mysteries skillfully left for him to unravel, he sets off on an unexpected journey across the universe that leads him to learning more about himself and his past than he could ever have expected. An epistolary novel presented in the form of journal entries and audio transcripts, Scully searches for a meaning for his existence while documenting his struggles and ultimately uncovering a grave revelation that makes him question who he really is.
