This world-famous traditional piece of guitar music has been recorded as songs by among others Tom Jones, Julio Iglesias, Mike Oldfield and Mireille Mathieu is of either of Spanish or South American origins. Typically it has been attributed to Antonio Rubira, David del Castillo, Francisco Tarrega, Fernando Sor, Daniel Fortea, Miguel Llobet, Antonio Cano, Vicente Gomez and Narciso Yepes but most likely it is an anonymous composers work. First recorded in Madrid sometime between 1897 and 1901 and published in Argentina in 1913, Spanish Romance gained worldwide fame in Rene Clements 1952 film Jeux interdits also known as Forbidden GamesSheet Music for Guitar arranged by Lars Christian Lundholm. Spanish Romance is also known by alternative title: Romance Anonimo, Estudio en Mi de Rubira, Romance de Espana, Romance of the Guitar, Romanza, Romance d'Amour, Forbidden Games, Quiero, Amour Defendu, Du aer den ende, Walzer der Liebe, You are the only one, Study in E by Rubira. ....
