The monologue sermon - its preparation, delivery and 'sitting under' - dominates church life for most believers today, as it has done for centuries past. And yet, despite the inflated claims which are made for the practice - even, for many, regarding it as a sacrament - the results are pitifully small and transient. So argues David Gay, as have others before him. In this work, he explores this, and sets out what he sees as the biblical cure.
