The Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Research Act of 1978 authorized surveys of our Nation's forest resources. These surveys are part of a continuing, nationwide undertaking by the regional experiment stations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Inventories of the 13 Southern States are conducted by the Southern Research Station.
