Beskrivelse
How would your life change -- right now, today -- if "life" after "death" was proven to exist? In SOUL SURVIVOR, a dying physician by the name of Bernie White decides to volunteer for an experiment that will hopefully realize the evidence needed to prove life exists after death, and change the entire world. Throughout the book, we also follow the lives and relationships of three couples who at some point meet, and are ultimately deeply affected by, Bernie. First, there's Harry and Marion Kirby: a loud-mouthed, inconsiderate cab driver married to a quietly repentant woman who despairs constantly over the loss of their only child. They live in Chicago, which is also where Bernie resides. Then, in Los Angeles, we meet Dick and Theresa Pearson: they're young, black, beautiful, and each are very successful in their respective fields, the source of their serious marital problems. Bill Anderson and Anne Maybury live in San Francisco and work closely as executives of a large ad firm. Their lives take a turn after Bill's wife commits suicide. Adding an interesting depth to each of these troubled couples, the reader is given a periodic peek into the characters' subconscious wanderings -- whether in their dreams or other comparably relaxed states. These "learning" experiences remain unknown to each character's waking mind, but allow the reader to have a certain insight into their personalities and present some interesting possibilities to ponder. All in all, SOUL SURVIVOR is a very timely book reflecting reality as it now exists, together with certain speculation as to our minds' untapped reservoir of what one might call. "Universal Knowledge."
