In the small northwestern Texas town of Chancellorsville, for Houston Calhoun and his brothers, Austin and Dallas, Dellinger's Rodeo had been their home for as long as he could remember. Austin's risk-taking passion was for riding the dangerous bulls. Dallas, usually drunk, acted as his normal foolish self as a rodeo clown. As for Houston, his heart belonged to the horses he groomed and a Cherokee girl named Raven.

Their family's dark past had led them here. From what Houston had overheard Austin say to Dallas once, the three brothers had no choice but to work for the rodeo. Austin claimed that they would have to work the rest of their lives for Harland Dellinger to pay off their dead father's debt. Austin and Houton both embraced this fate, but the voices and memories of the past haunted Dallas far too much to find peace here. Hellbent on destroying himself, the alcohol he consumed seldom ever silenced the rage in him. And when discovering a secret Austin had kept hidden for years, Dallas attempts to end his torture and maybe set free the sons of Eden.
