Veronica was just a normal girl; smart, she had some close friends, and a loving family, but she never felt loved. She longed for a relationship. A relationship like she saw in the movies or read about in books, all encompassing, full of passion and eternal.

When Veronica meets Sloan for the first time she's only a naive thirteen year old girl; over the years she falls in love with the good looking, charming guy. She hopes she will finally find what she's been searching for, but Sloan is damaged. He is selfish, and takes advantage of Veronica's feelings for him.
