Socioeconomic Baseline and Projections of the Impact of an Ocs Onshore Base for Selected Florida Panhandle Communities

The MMS, in its most recent Five Year Plan, stated its intention to lease an area for development in the western edge of the Eastern Planning Area of the Gulf of Mexico in the year 2001, Because the experience of Texas and Louisiana has indicated substantial social and economic impacts onshore from Outer Continental Shelf( OCS) activity are possible, the MMS wanted to investigate the potential impacts on affected communities in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico.
