This study analyses the impact of certain personality characteristics like gender role self-perception, self-disclosure, and selfesteem on communication styles. Sex role, self-disclosure, and self-esteem have been examined in relation with their communication behaviours. The study has documented in detail the earlier researches done in the area of gender and communication. Using Bem Sex Role Inventory, Masculine and Feminine Self-Disclosure Scalp, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Communication Style Profile Test, data were collected. Sample characteristics and test administration have been described. Besides discussing the results and findings, it also pin-points limitations and makes suggestions for future research.
