We're living in the age of social networking - it's an inescapable fact. The rise in popularity of these platforms has, on the one hand, revolutionized communication among healthcare professionals and, on the other, turned traditional learning models on their head. Many pathologists around the world are taking advantage of these means of communication and have turned them into an excellent model of active pedagogy. A veritable virtual community of pathologists is very active, particularly on Twitter and Facebook, sharing and discussing interesting cases, reporting innovative results or simply communicating about their specialty. In the age of digital education, it is more essential than ever for healthcare professionals in general, and pathologists in particular, to integrate these community platforms and develop the way we learn and exchange information about our specialty.
