Warner Grayson was trying to deliver his prized horses to a buyer in San Antonio -- and prove to his headstrong partner Laura Pico that it was no fool's errand -- when he ran into a pack of five ambushers. Grayson felled one and managed to capture the other four. He arranged for the sheriff in Hondo to keep them locked up until he returned from delivering his horses. In San Antonio, he discovered the would-be horse thieves were wanted for a bank robbery in Round Rock and decided to claim the reward for their capture. But neither money nor justice is easy to come by in South Texas.
