Eamonn (P.E.) Gunn was a former member of the Garda SÃochÃ¡na. Born in Pomeroy, County Tyrone, he grew up in Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. Educated at St. Maryâ€™s College, Dundalk, he served in the army during the war before joining the Garda SÃochÃ¡na in 1943. He was deeply involved in the quest for a reform of the Garda Representative Bodies and was a former chairman of that organisation.
