A NEW LORENA MCGEE MYSTERY
In this third "quirky Southern" mystery series, Lorena McGee, Coroner of Colquitt County, Georgia, again must solve a mystery: what happened to the "unpopular" and cantankous nun and who was responsible for her untimly demise? Readers will also enjoy Cecile's first book in this series, MUMMA'S FAVORITE: LIFE AND DEATH IN A SOUTHERN FAMILY, and second volume, JUSTICE FOR DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL.
FROM THE BOOK
"You are not doing Mayree any good by coddling her, you know, Hannah. My sister needs to straighten up and move on "
The housekeeper's hands tightened into fists as if she had to restrain herself from tackling the nun, forcing her onto the carpet, and prying Amilee's rosary out of Susanna's mean, clutching fingers.
"I wouldn't try that, Hannah. For one thing, I outweigh you. I've fought tougher people than you in my high school classroom, back in the day."
Susanna sniffed and straightened her shoulders. "Did you really intend to strike a holy woman of God? Be careful Hannah. You may lose your soul with that temper of yours."
