For the past twenty years Charles Morris has collected and co-ordinated the major developments in the field of communication, from the physical sciences to the arts, with the intention of formulating a comprehensive, reliable theory of signs. The result is this significant achievement that deserves to rank with the work of Ogden and Richards, Korzybski, and P. W. Bridgman.
