A mysterious disease is killing people in rural Kentucky and Center for Disease Control doctor Naomi Switzer is summoned to determine the cause. That fateful trip leads the dedicated doctor into the arms of local Sheriff Kyle McCrosky, but after a failed relationship, Naomi has written off love and commitment, and intends to remain focused on her career. Backwoods Darling, Kentucky has never experienced such a mysterious, deadly disease outbreak, and Naomi may be the only one who can help.
