Beskrivelse
This book is a small collection of anecdotal memories from a happy childhood in the immediate post-war period. It is a snapshot of life in a Lancashire cotton town during the 1940s and early 1950s. Judged against today's society, which seems to worship at the altar of material possessions and entitlement, it would probably be regarded as extreme 'child poverty'. In fact, all the ingredients for a happy, healthy and fulfilling childhood were present and those essential ingredients remain the same now as then. If a child has love, security, inspiration and encouragement, then that child has every chance of developing into a contributing and valued member of society.
