It was once said that the hood was a deadly battlefield where only the strongest survive. Leilani Vasquez has had her fair share of fights being born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her childhood was suffused with drugs and abuse as she was treated as a burden by the very woman who brought her into the world. Love eludes their home once Leilani's innocence is torn away from her by her mother's moral less boyfriend. Showing no mercy, Leilani is forced to grow up fast when she becomes pregnant with her stepfather's child, along with a drug habit that she cannot kick. Events transpire between the odd family, changing Leilani's life forever.
