Shapes That Created A Nation is a work that models the American Common Core curriculum in a nonfiction book. This reading material teaches vocabulary used in physical geography, American history, and geometry. Combining math with the humanities is an excellent way to learn to communicate about multiple subjects in unison. At the conclusion of the book, students have the opportunity to test reading comprehension, definitions of target vocabulary, and challenge their writing skills.
