Beskrivelse
According to the dictionary, Shangri-la is a fictional place, a mystical, harmonious valley enclosed in the Himalayan Mountains of Tibet. It's the place where the character, Larry Darrell, in The Razor's Edge, found his atonement with God. When he returned to the confused world we live in, he realized he was still in this world but no longer of it. Having achieved the elusive state of selflessness, he returns to the United States. In the sequel, Stepping Stones to God, Larry lives the remainder of his life on this plane as a true celibate, a priest of the Absolute. With the wisdom of a serpent and the gentleness of a dove, his only desire is to free those who cross his path of the illusions in which they are imprisoned. Shangri-la is also purported to be a place where life approaches perfection, a remote idyllic hideaway, a land of eternal youth which is protected by 'la' the Tibetan term for mountain pass. In Holy Scripture, Heaven is also protected from the profane. It is said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. And yet, Scripture mercifully tells us that heaven is closer than hands and feet. With that in mind, the author has provided a collection of stories where conflicts are resolved and happiness prevails. A place of refuge in these times of strife. Between these covers - a few moments of Shangri-la within reach of all.
