Hermia loves Lysander; Helena loves Demetrius.
And the forest is full of meddling fairies as the moon wanes . . .
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies. With mixed-up lovers, fairies, magic spells, and a play-within-a-play, its plot is woven between three groups of people: the Athenian court and its courtiers, the Athenian tradesmen working on a drama to perform before the court, and the fairies who rule over the woods outside of Athens.
In this children's play, Jenny Bradley has adapted Shakespeare's words into a script that is accessible for students and includes a plan to help directors or teachers produce the performance. Inside you will find what you need for planning your production, whether it be a backyard performance on a summer evening, or a full stage production before an audience.
