Justine Cloak has earned the respect of her colleagues and caught the eye of a fellow psychiatrist, Shane Moran. But she lives a secret life in a supernatural and sensual world of spirit guides. In a conference with Shane, Justine shocks herself by discussing her private life as that of a patient. Shane is convinced the patient, really Justine, is schizophrenic and needs to be on medication. Shane's interest in the bizarre Shaman journey grows with each unambiguous discussion about the fabricated patient, and he finds himself dabbling in the spiritual world as well. What they discover is life-changing, and denying the desire between them proves impossible.

Renee Landruss lives with her husband of thirty-three years in a small town in Alberta, Canada, and spends most of her summers at their cabin in Montana, USA, with family and friends. Both Renee and her husband were committed to her staying home to raise their three sons; during that time, she took online writing courses, entered competitions, and worked with online editors to maintain a current writing style. She received a diploma from the Institute of Children's Literature and has been recognized in several international writing competitions, including Pacific Northwest Writers, Writers Digest, First Writers, and Women on Writing. When their sons were raised, she built a business and continued to write. With the business now established, she is embarking on a new adventure: publication. Renee has also completed the sequel to Shadow Self, several short stories, and a full-length novel. She is currently laboring over her second novel.
