The accompanying article told of his heroism as a British agent within the French Resistance. Side-by-side was a contemporary photograph of the same man, now a distinguished elderly gentleman, a retired Cabinet Minister and venerated senior politician. However, for one aged couple, the image of that young man rekindles horrific memories of wartime France.
