Sergeant James Hawk has been selected to be a part of a secret OSS mission in the Dutch East Indies-where the Japanese are reportedly moving their government. With a large and unchallenged military presence there, an American task force is being assembled to thwart their efforts.
Assigned to scout a nearby volcano, a war-weary Hawk searches for the enemy's presence. While he's busy exploring the mysterious volcano-and finding nothing of worth-the Japanese attack a French mission, sending Hawk on a crippling hunt for a necessary component to a deadly atomic weapon.
