Beskrivelse

Kahiga wakes to the rude shock of the sickness of his pregnant wife, Jennifer. He comes to understand the systems which he had ignored all along when he is unable to get his wife treated just because he cannot raise the minimum deposit required to commence her treatment. His medical cover cannot help him either, though it is dubbed the most progressive in Africa. Even the national health scheme offers him no reprieve at all. Frustrated, he moves from one place to another seeking help, but it is not forthcoming. It is only when Jennifer dies he discovers that the systems are designed to fleece them and will only come through for them upon their death.

On the other hand, Janet who has caused the death of Kahiga's brother through an accident finds herself in a similar situation with her daughter. Janet's father who is a rich man disowns her because she doesn't agree with his plans to defraud the people. Her daughter dies and she is arrested on the day of her burial.

The two learn the hard way how the systems work and when they come together, they vow to bring a transformation that will establish a new order of things.
