I was on the run, desperate to survive. Kip was safety and security, all wrapped up into one lumberjack alpha of a man, too good to turn down.

He saved me, offering me care and shelter in his secluded slice of heaven in the icy mountains. The same mountains that tried to kill me on my way to him.

His warm hands and dominant nature melted the ice I'd built around my heart for decades.

At first, he demanded to know what happened to me, but as more time went on, he stopped.

And I stopped dreading the day he would find out.

Then the Sheriff showed up, armed and on a manhunt.
